UFC 295 Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Madison Square Garden with Two-Weight World Champion on the Line

Former middleweight title holder Alex Pereira is set to take on Jiri Prochazka in a bid to become a two-weight world champion at UFC 295. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

After an injury forced Jamahal Hill to vacate the light heavyweight belt, Jiri Prochazka now has the opportunity to reclaim the title he previously held last year. However, the event hasn’t gone without changes, as originally Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic were scheduled for the headline fight but the bout was cancelled due to an injury sustained by Jones.

In the co-main event, Tom Aspinall will take on Sergei Pavlovich in an interim heavyweight title fight. If you’re looking to watch, UFC 295 will be live on ESPN Plus and is available for $79.99 with a PPV pass in the US. UK viewers can catch Prochazka vs Pereira with their regular TNT Sports subscription and it’s available on Kayo Sports PPV in Australia.

Prelims for UFC 295 begin at 8pm ET / 1am GMT, followed by the main card at 10pm ET / 3am GMT. Prochazka vs Pereira ring walks are expected at around 12am ET / 5am GMT. Jiri Prochazka, taking part in only his fourth UFC fight, and Alex Pereira, a former two-time kickboxing champion, will face off in the main event. Prochazka claimed the Light Heavyweight belt at UFC 275 in June last year after a dramatic fifth-round submission stoppage and joins the promotion after competing in the Gladiator Fighting Championship and Rizin Fighting Federation.

On the other hand, Pereira became the middleweight champion but lost his unbeaten run after a defeat to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. He also made his debut in the light heavyweight level with a split decision victory against Jan Błachowicz at UFC 291.

Pereira is marginally out as the bookies’ favourite to win the match with odds hovering around 4/5. Prochazka’s odds of victory are currently in at Evens.

UFC 295 full card and highlights include Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira for the vacant light-heavyweight title, Sergei Pavlovich vs Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title, and more. The event presents an exciting lineup of fights that fans won’t want to miss.
