Proton has launched a new password manager tool that promises to enhance users’ digital privacy and protect against cyberattacks. The tool, available to subscribers of the Proton Pass Plus plan, offers encrypted protection for passwords, logins, private notes, financial details, and metadata.

In addition to its secure email, encrypted cloud storage, and VPN service, the Swiss company has introduced an exclusive protection program called the Proton Sentinel for users at higher risk of cyberattacks. This program aims to prevent attackers from accessing user data, even if account login details have been leaked.

Proton Pass has already helped millions of people safeguard their sensitive information, but the company is now offering even more protection with the Proton Sentinel program, which uses AI monitoring and human expertise to detect and challenge suspicious activities on user accounts.

While Proton Pass encrypts all the data locally on users’ devices, Proton Sentinel provides an extra layer of protection against user compromise by phishing attacks or other social engineering scams.

Since its official launch in June, Proton Pass has continued to enhance users’ privacy, allowing for secure sharing of sensitive information. However, to access the extra security of Proton Sentinel, users will need to upgrade to the Proton Pass Plus plan.

The Plus plan offers a 7-day free trial for new users and a 30-day money-back guarantee. All users can enroll in the Proton Sentinel program by visiting their Proton account and enabling the feature in the Security and Privacy tab.

Proton’s commitment to enhancing digital privacy has been evident in its continuous efforts to provide users with secure solutions. The new Proton Sentinel program is a testament to this, offering an additional layer of security to protect against cyber threats.
