Apple Announces Upcoming Event with Mysterious “Scary Fast” Theme

Apple has announced their next event, scheduled for October 30 at 5 PM PT. With the tagline “scary fast,” the event is generating excitement and anticipation among Apple enthusiasts. Set to be live-streamed over the web, this event follows the grand unveiling of the iPhone 15 series, the Apple Watch 9, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 on September 12.

While Apple has remained tight-lipped about the specific details, there are speculations about what might be unveiled based on previous launches and current rumors. Considering the recent releases of new iPhones and smartwatches, it is expected that this event will put Macs in the spotlight. Rumors suggest that the newly updated MacBook Pros, equipped with the latest M3 chips, will be the main focus. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that new 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch models are likely to be showcased.

Additionally, there are indications that Apple may introduce the M3 series, including M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips, at the event. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, another reputable source, confirms that Apple has internally tested 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros powered by M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. Although the designs are expected to remain largely the same, Gurman asserts that these new laptops will be launched next week.

Regarding the MacBook Air, it is less likely to receive an update at this event. Last year saw the introduction of the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, followed by a 15-inch version earlier this year. While rumors suggest that both 13-inch and 15-inch models of the M3 MacBook Air are in testing and production, a launch is not anticipated until the first half of 2024.

As for the iMac, there are conflicting rumors about whether a new version will be unveiled. The 24-inch model was last updated in 2021, while the 27-inch model received a refresh in 2020. Earlier reports suggested that the 24-inch M3 iMac would not be released until 2024, with a larger 32-inch version scheduled for 2025. However, recent rumors claim that the 24-inch model may indeed make an appearance at this event. It remains unclear whether the new iMac will feature the M2 chip or introduce new silicon.

While there is confusion surrounding the exact lineup of products to be unveiled at the October event, leaks and rumors continue to circulate. The event page on Apple’s website, featuring the Apple logo transforming into the macOS Finder logo, indicates that new Apple Macs are in the pipeline. Apple enthusiasts can watch the live-streamed event to find out all the latest announcements. In the meantime, more leaks and rumors are expected in the days leading up to the event.
