DoNotSpy11, a free anti-tracking tool for Windows 11 and 10, has received an update that allows users to deal with Copilot. The new version of DoNotSpy11 (v1.2.0.0) now supports Windows 11 23H2, the latest annual update. This update comes with Copilot, which is placed as a default icon in the taskbar. However, if users want to disable the Copilot button, they can do so with DoNotSpy11. In addition to disabling Copilot, the tool offers various privacy options, including disabling Windows 11 telemetry, lock screen notifications, widgets, and more.
Another similar tool, O&O ShutUp10, also supports Windows 11 and Windows 10. It tackles Windows privacy issues and disables Copilot, along with removing the taskbar button. Users can download DoNotSpy11 for free from their website or O&O ShutUp10 from their website as well.
Both DoNotSpy11 and O&O ShutUp10 have been available for some time. The previous version of DoNotSpy10 for Windows 10 allegedly had an advertising plugin, although the current version of DoNotSpy11 is ad-free. Users should proceed with caution when using any third-party software for Windows 11.
While many users are embracing Copilot and its potential, there are still individuals who prefer not to have AI on their desktop, especially during its initial stages with limited settings interaction.
