Apple has just unveiled a new feature called Year in Review for its Books app, which is similar to Spotify Wrapped. This feature gives users personalized statistics about the books they read in the app over the past year, including their most-read author and the time spent reading. To access this feature, users need to open the Books app, select the Read Now tab, and find the ‘Your Year in Review’ card under the Top Picks header.
The feature categorizes readers into six types, defining the way they read or listen to literature. Apple has also released lists of the most-read books across all Books users, with titles like “Spare” by Prince Harry and “Only the Dead” by Jack Carr taking the top spots for non-fiction and fiction audiobook categories, respectively.
In contrast to Apple Music Replay, which is hosted on Apple’s website, the Year in Review feature is available within the Books app. This makes it a more convenient way for users to review their reading habits of the past year. However, the reason behind Apple’s decision to integrate the feature into the Books app but not make it app-based for Apple Music Replay remains a mystery.
Overall, the Year in Review offers a unique and personalized way for Apple Books users to reflect on their reading habits in 2023.
