Google, Nvidia, and Cyberpunk 2077 studio CD Projekt Red have dropped a cryptic message teasing a gaming announcement and two dates with a code to be cracked.
The first date is November 18th, 2023, at 8PM ET in Times Square, New York City, as described on a surprising YouTube video on the official Chromebook channel. The second date is November 20th, 2023, on YouTube. However, the second ‘location’ is not specified.
The message in the video description reads, “Game more than you thought you could and get ready to crack the code.”
Google has been promoting Chromebooks’ gaming capabilities, with the ability to natively play Minecraft and other best PC games, as well as stream titles. This hints at what the upcoming announcement or event might reveal. However, playing Cyberpunk 2077 natively on Chromebooks seems unlikely.
Nvidia, known for producing the best graphics cards for PC gaming and its GeForce Now subscription-based cloud gaming service, and CD Projekt Red, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077, are also involved in this campaign. The nature of the “cracking the code” event remains to be seen, but it appears to involve participants combining clues from the two dates to solve a mystery.
The marketing campaign’s choice to utilize Times Square indicates that the unveiling is expected to be significant. It will be fascinating to see how it all plays out starting this weekend.
