Google has released its design revamp for the Google Chrome web browser, and it is now rolling out to users of the release version of Chrome. The updated design features rounded corners and refreshed icons, giving the browser a modernized look. However, not all users are pleased with the changes.

One particular aspect that has garnered criticism is the increased spacing between buttons, intended to create a more touch-friendly interface. This has resulted in larger menus, which may be frustrating for users who do not use a touchscreen and want to maximize the space available for displaying web pages.

This move by Google to cater to touchscreens has caused dissatisfaction among Chrome users. For those who are unhappy with the new design, it is possible to revert to the old interface by adjusting certain settings in the browser. By turning off four specific flags within the Chrome settings, users can restore the old Chrome interface.

To do this, users can go to the list of flags in Chrome by typing “Chrome://flags” into the browser’s address bar. Then, search for “Refresh 2023” in the ‘Search Flags’ box and disable the four flags that carry this label: Chrome Refresh 2023, Chrome WebUI Refresh 2023, Chrome Refresh 2023 New Tab Button, and Chrome Refresh 2023 Top Chrome Font Style.

After disabling these flags, users need to close all instances of Chrome and then restart the browser to see the changes. This can help users retain the old interface and prevent them from switching to alternative web browsers.
