How to Disable FaceTime Video Reactions on iPhone and Mac
With the introduction of iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma, Apple added various video reactions to its FaceTime app, activated by gestures like a thumbs up or peace sign. While these effects can add fun to calls, they may not always be suitable for serious conversations or professional settings. Fortunately, disabling video reactions on FaceTime is a simple process that can be done on both iOS and macOS.
To disable video reactions on iOS, open Control Center during a FaceTime call, tap on Effects, and then tap on Reactions. This will turn off the reactions for that call. On macOS, during a FaceTime call, click the green FaceTime icon in the menu bar and click on the Reactions title to disable them.
Disabling video reactions in FaceTime is a quick and easy process that can prevent potential embarrassment during calls. However, if you want to add a little fun to your calls in the future, you can easily enable them again by following the same steps.
