In a recent interview with TechRadar, Robert Kirkman, co-creator of “Invincible,” addressed a fan theory that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be appearing in season 2 of the hit show. Kirkman stated that while Morgan may not be part of the upcoming season, there is a possibility of him voicing a character in the future.

Earlier this year, Morgan sparked speculation about his involvement in “Invincible” when he posted a photo on his Instagram account showing him with volumes 2 and 3 of the comic book series. Fans quickly jumped to the conclusion that he had joined the cast, leading to excitement and anticipation among viewers.

Many fans speculated that Morgan could potentially voice one of Omni-Man’s fellow Viltrumites, powerful beings with ambitions to rule the universe. Names like Conquest and General Kregg were thrown around as possible characters Morgan could portray. Given his outstanding performance as Negan in “The Walking Dead,” fans believed he would be perfect for one of these roles.

However, according to Kirkman, fans should not get their hopes up too much. Having seen the first four episodes of season 2, Kirkman confirmed that Morgan is not credited with an appearance in the upcoming season. When asked directly about Morgan’s involvement and whether he would be playing a fan-favorite character, Kirkman remained tight-lipped, trying not to spoil any surprises. He did mention that he would love to work with Morgan again, along with other “Walking Dead” actors like Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, and that if the right role comes along, they could potentially join the “Invincible” cast.

Although Kirkman’s response may disappoint some fans, he did share more details about other aspects of season 2. In a separate interview with co-showrunner Simon Racioppa, Kirkman discussed how “Invincible” is building a more ambitious and grounded multiverse story compared to Marvel and DC. Fans can expect a bolder and more exciting season ahead.

Stay tuned to TechRadar for more exclusive coverage and updates on “Invincible” season 2.
