One of the directors of Loki season 2, Kasra Farahani, has revealed that Marvel fans were intended to feel deeply unsettled by a scene in episode 3. In an exclusive interview with TechRadar, Farahani confirmed that the writing team wanted viewers to be uncomfortable when Miss Minutes attempted to woo Victor Timely. The third episode, titled ‘1893’, introduced another variant of Kang the Conqueror in Timely. However, it was the scene where Miss Minutes, the sentient AI created by He Who Remains, comes onto Timely that became the focus of discussion after the episode aired on Disney Plus. Miss Minutes developed feelings for He Who Remains and transferred them to Timely, who is a variant of He Who Remains. The scene made many viewers uneasy, as they took to social media platforms to express their discomfort.
Farahani credits head writer Eric Martin with the idea of humanizing Miss Minutes and giving her ambitions. The creators wanted to explore the awkward dynamic between Miss Minutes and Timely, and it seems they achieved the desired effect of creeping out the audience. The rejection by Timely is likely to have consequences in the remaining episodes of Loki season 2, especially as Timely joins Loki and Mobius in their mission to stop the TVA’s Temporal Loom from causing multiversal destruction.
