People are going about their daily lives while wearing Meta’s Quest 3 mixed-reality headset, and videos of these experiences are being shared online. The Quest 3 is an affordable headset that allows users to play games, watch videos, and browse the internet while still being aware of their surroundings. Priced at $499-$649, depending on data storage, the headset is gaining popularity among multitaskers.

One video shows a customer wearing the Quest 3 while ordering at a cafe, capturing the cashier’s reaction. Another video features a user cooking and watching a movie simultaneously with the headset, praising its practicality. Reddit user r/LunchAndDinner shared a video of themselves sweeping while watching a video, showcasing the device’s multitasking capabilities.

Despite the positive reviews, some critics have pointed out flaws in the Quest 3. At New York Comic Con, a Threads user reported warped visuals when objects approached the headset too closely.

Apple is set to release its competitor to the Quest 3, the Vision Pro. Early testers claim that the Vision Pro offers a more crisp and seamless viewing experience with higher-resolution screens. However, it comes with a significantly higher price tag, expected to be seven times more expensive than the Quest 3.

It remains to be seen which headset buyers will prefer, as the Vision Pro is yet to be released, while the Quest 3 was launched last week. The Vision Pro is scheduled to hit the market in early 2024.
