Billionaire investor and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel recently revealed that he has no intentions of donating to any political campaign during the next presidential election. This announcement came after former President Donald Trump called Thiel asking for financial support, to which Thiel declined. Trump then allegedly lashed out and called Thiel a “fucking scumbag.”

Thiel has notably backed Senate candidates Blake Masters and JD Vance with substantial monetary contributions.
According to The Atlantic, Trump contacted Thiel in April 2023 after repeated attempts, reminding him of his prior support for Masters and Vance and seeking a similar gesture. When Thiel refused, Trump expressed disappointment. A few months later, Trump reportedly referred to Thiel as a “fucking scumbag” and discouraged Masters from running for office again.
When pressed by The Atlantic, Thiel criticized the Trump administration, stating that it was unable to effectively execute even the most basic functions of the government. However, Thiel refused to comment on reports that he was working with the FBI as an informant.
