Apple’s highly anticipated Vision Pro headset is set to be launched later than originally planned, with rumors suggesting a release date sometime in March 2024.

According to industry insider Mark Gurman in his recent Power On newsletter, the original plan was for a January 2024 launch, but for unknown reasons, it has been postponed. Forbes has suggested that the delay may be due to Apple’s desire for further “advanced device testing” and uncertainty regarding the distribution logistics of the Vision Pro. It is anticipated that the VR headset will be released first in the United States, with a later international rollout in 2024. The specific countries slated for the release are not yet known, although the United Kingdom and Canada have been mentioned as possible locations.

Additionally, it is projected that Apple will sell the Vision Pro through appointments at its in-person stores or online, without the involvement of third-party retailers. It is also expected to offer differently-sized headbands and prescription lenses for a personalized user experience.

The delay of the Vision Pro’s launch aligns with the release of other Apple products, making spring a busy time for the company. Gurman has hinted at the launch of new iPads in March, with an associated minor upgrade.

Rumors also suggest that Apple will introduce an iPad Pro with an OLED screen in 2024 and continue updating its hardware with OLED technology in the following years.
