Indian actor Ranveer Singh was honored for his contribution to cinema at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. Hollywood actor Johnny Depp was thanked by Singh in his acceptance speech for being a “master of transformation.” Singh was one of three recipients of the Honorary Yusr Awards at the Jeddah-based film festival, along with Hollywood star Diane Kruger and Saudi actor-writer Abdullah Al-Sadhan.

Sharon Stone presented Singh with the honor, and in his speech, Singh expressed his admiration for Depp, who was also present at the opening ceremony. Other Indian cinema personalities attending the festival include filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Katrina Kaif and Frieda Pinto. The Yusr Awards recognize both emerging and established voices across the formats of fiction, documentary, and animation.

The festival, which opened on Thursday, will conclude on December 9. The official X handle of the film extravaganza shared Singh and Depp’s picture, and the Red Sea International Film Festival will host a variety of esteemed cinema personalities, showcasing the global influence of the event.
