ExpressVPN Launches All-in-One Privacy Software with New Password Manager

Leading VPN service provider, ExpressVPN, has taken a significant step towards becoming an all-in-one privacy solution with the introduction of its new password manager tool. After a successful beta release, ExpressVPN Keys is now available to all users at no extra cost. This new tool allows users to manage and protect all their passwords and sensitive details without the need for an additional service.

ExpressVPN is one of the few VPN providers to offer this feature for free. The password manager, ExpressVPN Keys, aims to make it easier for users to improve their password habits and prioritize security. According to Samuel Bultez, Head of Product at ExpressVPN, many people still rely on weak passwords or password reset buttons, leaving them vulnerable to data breaches. By offering a trusted brand in password management, ExpressVPN aims to help users enhance their digital security.

ExpressVPN Keys offers a range of features to ensure strong and secure password management. Users can store unlimited logins, passwords, credit/debit card details, and even notes. The tool also generates customized passwords and alerts users if their existing passwords are weak. Additionally, ExpressVPN Keys acts as a data breach alert system, notifying users when their emails or passwords have been compromised.

Convenience is another key aspect of ExpressVPN Keys. The tool can function as a 2FA authenticator, generating and autofilling time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) when signing in to accounts. ExpressVPN Keys is integrated into the iOS and Android VPN apps, as well as browser extensions, making it easily accessible across multiple devices.

ExpressVPN Keys was initially launched in beta in April 2022 and has now evolved into a comprehensive security product. ExpressVPN aims to provide an all-in-one suite of tools, including a VPN, password manager, Aircove router, data breach alert, and various ad and tracker blockers. The development of ExpressVPN Keys follows a thorough security audit by Cure53, which confirmed the product’s infrastructure security.

To promote transparency and invite further security recommendations, ExpressVPN has added ExpressVPN Keys to its bug bounty program, allowing security researchers to test the tools and provide feedback. The provider has also released a detailed white paper, providing additional technical insights into Keys’ design and infrastructure.

Privacy and security have become increasingly important but also more complex in the digital age. ExpressVPN’s vision is to create a privacy and security “super app” that offers comprehensive protection for all aspects of users’ digital lives.
