Royal Enfield debuted the highly anticipated Himalayan 450 in India at the Motoverse 2023 event held in Goa. The price for the Himalayan 450 is expected to fall in the range of ₹2.5 lakh to ₹2.6 lakh. Additionally, it will be available in three variants at launch – Base, Pass, and Summit.

The motorcycle boasts an all-new engine that delivers 40 bhp at 8,000rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Royal Enfield’s Chief Siddharth Lal announced that the starting price for the adventure tourer will be Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, with the top variant, Hanley Black, available at Rs 2.84 lakh.

The Himalayan 450 will also be released in Europe and the UK in March 2024, with prices set at 5,900 euros and 5,750 pounds, respectively. At the launch event, Lal explained how the inspiration for upgrading the Himalayan stemmed from Bruce Lee, who represented a different type of action hero. This revamp positions the new Himalayan to compete with larger adventure tourers such as the BMW GS 1300 and Kawasaki Versys 1000.

The adventure tourer comes in three available variants – Base, Pass, and Summit. Additionally, customers have the option to choose from five color options. Featuring a modern rugged design, new LED headlight, redesigned fuel tank, windscreen, LED indicators, and more, the Himalayan 450 showcases a range of modern design elements.

The motorcycle also includes a host of features such as a full-color TFT display, screen mirroring, Google Maps support, and more. Moreover, it offers two primary riding modes – Eco and Performance – while allowing users to select whether they want to keep the rear ABS on or off in both these modes.

When compared to its rivals, such as the KTM 390 Adventure SW, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 features a 452cc engine, delivering 40.02PS of power and 40Nm of torque. It boasts a 6-speed gearbox and additional features such as a seat height of 825-845mm, ground clearance of 230mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 17 liters. Overall, the Himalayan 450 proves to be a compelling new entry in the adventure touring motorcycle segment.
