Indian entrepreneurs have been advised by Sabeer Bhatia, the founder of Hotmail and an investor, to focus on conquering the domestic market rather than trying to expand globally. Bhatia believes that Indian entrepreneurs have successfully developed a cost-efficient business model that caters specifically to the needs of Indian customers, which is different from the rest of the world. Bhatia clarified that Show Reel is not meant to compete with entertainment-based short-form apps like TikTok or Moj. Instead, it targets the professional space by enabling users to create video resumes. However, he recognized the challenges of the initial concept and the shift towards entrepreneurship-focused content.
Discussing future plans, Bhatia revealed his interest in creating a show similar to Shark Tank, named “Dolphin Tank.” The show aims to teach entrepreneurs how to develop their own businesses and will be released online. While he refrained from disclosing financial details, he assured that more information would be available in the next three months.
