New Listings Reveal Possible Pricing for Intel Meteor Lake Laptops
Intel Meteor Lake laptops may have their pricing revealed, as online listings have surfaced, giving consumers a better idea of what to expect in terms of cost. Two laptops, based on Lenovo’s Yoga Pro 7, have been listed on a Bulgarian retailer website. These models come with 32GB of DDR5 memory and 1TB of SSD storage. Additionally, the laptops feature 14.5-inch 3K resolution touchscreens with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Intel had previously shared its roadmap for investors in 2022, highlighting the upcoming CPU architectures of Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake. These new chips will be based on the ‘Intel 4’ CPU architecture and will utilize a 7nm lithography process. This departure from their previous ‘Intel 7’ with a 10nm process indicates the potential for significant performance improvements.
Compared to Intel’s previous CPU generations, the 14th-generation Meteor Lake chips are expected to provide a notable performance boost. However, it may not be as groundbreaking as the shift from the 11th-gen chips, which introduced the split-core ‘performance/efficiency’ design.
According to reports, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 is currently listed at 2948 Bulgarian Lev or $1,594, while the Core Ultra 5 125H model is priced at 2579 Bulgarian Lev or $1,395. These prices may change as the product’s launch date approaches.
With prices appearing relatively high, surpassing $1,000 for a Core i5 equivalent, Intel will need to deliver impressive performance to remain competitive against Apple’s upcoming M3 chip.
Sources indicate that Intel is adopting a “tile-based” design for Meteor Lake, dividing various CPU processes into separate units on the CPU die. This approach is expected to improve overall performance by separating I/O functions, including support for PCIe 5.0 and Thunderbolt 4, into dedicated chiplets.
Intel’s move towards these exciting advancements in CPU technology showcases their commitment to providing cutting-edge products to consumers.
