“Finance and insurance workers in London likely to be most exposed to AI,” new study warns

A new study conducted by the UK government’s Department for Education found that the finance and insurance sector is the most exposed to the adoption of AI. The analysis revealed that professionals based in London are predicted to be some of the first to feel the impact of the new technology, which could raise concerns on Wall Street.

In addition to the finance and insurance sector, the report also indicated that professions such as accounting and finance were also at high risk of being impacted by AI. The study measured the exposure of various roles to AI, taking into account skills required for jobs across the UK labor market and how they could be affected by AI technologies such as speech and image recognition.

Furthermore, the report identified roles with low exposure to AI, which included trade workers like roofers and steel erectors. It also listed the top ten UK sectors most exposed to AI, including management consultancy, financial management, and directorial roles, among others.

As the adoption of AI continues to advance, it is crucial for professionals to be aware of potentially affected sectors and take the necessary steps to stay ahead of technological disruptions.
