Nvidia’s RTX Super refreshes have been making waves in the GPU rumor mill, and another claim has just emerged. Kopite7kimi, a known leaker in the GPU industry, has shared supposed specs for the upcoming trio of graphics cards.

According to the leak, the RTX 4080 Super is rumored to have 10,240 CUDA cores and will be built on the AD103 GPU. It’s essentially the same chip as the RTX 4080, but with all the cores enabled. In comparison, the vanilla RTX 4080 has 5% of its cores disabled.

The leak also indicates that the RTX 4070 Super will use either the AD104 or AD103 chip, with 7,168 CUDA cores. This puts it just below the RTX 4070 Ti, which uses a higher configuration of the same chip.

As for the in-between model, the RTX 4070 Ti Super, it could use the AD103 chip with 8,448 CUDA cores, or possibly the AD102. The AD102 chip is used in the flagship RTX 4090, so it is unclear why it would be repurposed for the RTX 4070 Ti Super instead of the 4080 Super.

It’s worth noting that Kopite7kimi still has doubts about these specs, especially regarding the 4070 Ti Super. Additionally, the information is weeks old, and specifications can change rapidly. However, it is certain that Nvidia has RTX Super refreshes planned for early 2024.

The RTX 4080 Super was recently listed in HWiNFO, a system monitoring tool, and spotted in a PCI ID repository, suggesting an early release next year. Nvidia likely wants to address the upper-mid-range GPU market, especially given the reported poor sales of the RTX 4080.

The leaked specs for the RTX 4080 Super align with what we expect from Nvidia, utilizing the full power of the AD103 chip with increased clock speeds. Nvidia will undoubtedly want to make the Super variant much better received than its predecessor.

It’s important to take these leaks with a grain of salt, as specifications can change, but Nvidia’s Super refreshes are undoubtedly a topic to keep an eye on.
